Life Insurance Corporation of India is a life insurance company. Which is providing life insurance services in many countries including India. Life Insurance Corporation of India has been established on 1st September 1956. It has been established by the Indian Parliament through the Insurance Act 1956.
Before the Nationalization of Life Insurance Corporation of India, there were more than 245 companies and provident societies doing insurance business in India. When LIC of India was nationalized in 1956, all these companies and provident societies were merged with LIC of India.
